Blankets of Hope : Providing Warmth to the Needy

Winter means curling up under warm blankets, drinking hot tea or coffee, etc. for most of us. But not everyone's tale is the same.

There are many underprivileged people who find the thought of winter frightening. It is heartbreaking to consider individuals who struggle to survive in the cold. They lack quilts and blankets to cover up themselves like us in the chilling weather. In an effort to assist, the 13to19 team took the initiative to provide blankets to the less fortunate in order to protect them from the cold winter. 

Preceding our Fundraiser at the Park , on December 10 and 11 at M N Krishna Rao Park, Bangalore and Lalbagh West Gate, Bangalore respectively where we sold a variety of items made by our fantastic team, we raised funds to afford nearly 250 blankets which we distributed to the underprivileged living on the streets of Bangalore. 

 Around 250 people sleeping on the streets in areas like Nehru Road, Chickpete, Avenue Road and Kammanahalli received assistance from the funds raised by being kept warm. The joy in the eyes of people while taking the blanket was truly worth the work we put in. We are incredibly grateful to each and every one who contributed to the cause; every penny that you donated has helped someone sleep a little more peacefully and warmly. The Blanket Donation Drive was a great learning experience and reminded us how thankful we all should be to be blessed with basic needs and a roof over our heads.
